Rose

Rose works across the road as a ‘housemaid’ or ‘servant’ for a local family.  She works 7 days a week from 6am until midnight.  She has been here in Abu Dhabi for 3 years working under these conditions, it is the norm.  Her employer wants her to find a new job because they don’t like her having a cell phone.  But to release her they are going to charge her half a years salary. I’ll be thinking of Rose & the many many other women here like her tomorrow.
